Perseverance

Hebrews 12:1-5 – “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus…Consider him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you may not grow weary or lose heart. In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.”

When the enemy is attacking you, you must be so grounded in the love of God that you have an involuntary response of, “I trust God.” God is trustworthy even when we are not. Admit the sin in your life and confess it, and the enemy can’t use that sin to drive a wedge between you and God. Surround yourself with people who realize their need for God by getting involved in a church and/or a Bible study. Fellowshipping with other Christians helps build a strong foundation you can pull from in times of hardships.
